Frontier Home Health and Hospice announces that they are now a licensed and certified Medicare hospice provider for Anchorage and vicinity.

Frontier has been providing home health service for the Anchorage area since 1996; however, as a healthcare advocate, they saw an unmet need in munity. “We identified that many of our Anchorage residents are on waiting lists to receive hospice services. And in fact, many residents die without receiving the hospice care they need and deserve,” explained Amanda Wright, RN BSN, Director of Operations for Frontier Home Health and Hospice.

Based on the identified need and Frontier’s commitment to home care, the agency went through the lengthy licensure and certification process to add a Medicare certified hospice program to their current home health services. “We are very excited to receive this great honor to serve our patients and their families, stated Amanda. “We now have the opportunity to expand the services we provide to patients in their homes – whether the goal is to maximize independence through home health services or to receive comfort care and symptom management at end-of-life.”

In addition to Medicare, Frontier also accepts Medicaid, VA, Tri-Care, Tri-West and most private insurances. Their specially trained staff is available to assist patients and families with understanding their coverage plans.
