Respiratory / Pulmonary Program
Solterra Subacute Services has created a uniquely advanced Pulmonary Program as a powerful resource for additional care and support. Developed with input from leading pulmonologists, primary care physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses and patients with lung disease, the program aims to deliver the highest quality of life possible for patients with chronic lung disease.
With special focus paid to the special needs of these patients and their families, the program provides education, training and resources for the entire continuum of care. A “patient-specific” plan of care is developed; in-home or inmunity services are provided; and a coordinated effort brings together the primary physician, the hospice team, the patient and the family. As a result, the Pulmonary Program works to improving our patient’s quality of life and leads to better self-care related to symptom management.
In addition, our Pulmonary Program is led by our on staff Director of Respiratory Services, Karl Pustai, BSRT, to lend expertise to the multidisciplinary care team, while our 24-hour on site nurses undergo specialized training to learn the pulmonary needs of patients, families, caregivers, physicians and healthcare providers.
