Our campus includes several communities.  Our newly renovated garden style apartment living is designed for Independent Living and Assisted Living. We also designed an area within our Assisted Living as a specialty community for those who may need Secured Memory Care.

Scottsdale Village Square has a history of delivering outstanding Skilled Nursing care. One of our Skilled Nursing Communities offers sub-acute Short Term Rehabilitation in private suites.  We also offer care for Secured Behavioral Health, Secured Behavioral Health with Dementia and Secured Wandering Dementia.

A few years back, SVS began putting a plan in place to rennovate our grounds and buildings.  The mature landscaping and garden areas are meticulously groomed.  Apartment interiors have been replaced with new kitchenettes, bathroom fixtures and cabinets.  The community areas in the lobby, dining room and sitting rooms have been updated.  Our long term skilled nursing rooms were converted to private suites for short term rehabilitation.

Poor Care
Some of the staff are very caring and skilled. Many are not. My poor grandmother was trying hard to get out of diapers. Too often she would ring for help and be left waiting 15 or 20 minutes and have to use her diaper. The for weeks the OT staff reported she was reluctant to partake in some of the activities but that the managed to make it work. Then out of the blue they said they were discharged her because she refused to participate in OT. What? We were there daily, inquiring about her progress! She was on a pureed diet for a while. The food was horrible. The worst example is the pureed, gelatinous fish. It was a transparent orange that tasted of nothing but smelled vaguely of fish. I am certain there was zero caloric value, not that she would eat it anyways. And Christmas dinner? A choice of ribs with coleslaw or a chicken salad sandwich. Just like home. Most of the staff had no idea of how to deal with a hearing impairment. They would move or reposition her without warning- very scary and sometimes painful for her! The CNA's were mostly nice to us but the nursing staff always acted like it was an inconvenience to interact with family especially if we asked for anything, either on her behalf like a box of tissues for her room or if we asked about her care or progress. They were often under-staffed- chronically so on the weekends.
