Brookdale White Chapel is a Newark Delaware assisted living and memory caremunity nestled in a community setting providing a nearby courtyard and garden walkway. Our retirement community is conveniently located within 4 blocks of downtown Newark. The Newark free city bus stops at the entrance of the community, and we are a short walk to the Newark Senior Center, which has a gymnasium and pool on the property. We are minutes from Rd 95 and easily accessible from northeast Maryland and southeast Pennsylvania. We have two major shopping centers within a mile radius. We are less than five miles from the premier hospital in the area, Christiana. The University of Delaware is in downtown Newark offering adult education and interest groups for seniors.

Brookdale White Chapel has 100 senior apartments with unique room variations not typical of most communities. These include studios, one-bedroom, two-bedrooms and efficiency apartments for fixed income options. We have a very comfortable, home-like setting and are a pet friendly community. Our apartments are located on three floors with accommodating elevators, a library, media room, computer/internet access and a cafe for general refreshments available at all hours.

Our senior living community nurtures strong relationships with area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers including Christiana Health Care System and Wilmington Hospital. We are able to be an invaluable resource for our residents and families.

Our Staff

Brookdale White Chapel, we have high staffing levels and clinical competency to support six levels of care. A 24-hour licensed nurse is always on-site including overnight care team assistance. We have a great nursing team with tenures up to ten years since we opened our doors.

A Wonderfully Active Lifestyle

At Brookdale White Chapel, we have a very diverse social and recreation calendar to meet the needs of a very independent clientele as well as those with cognitive stimulation needs and physical impairment. We support a variety of activities including live entertainment, outdoor excursions and creative and cultural events. Our residents have fun with our ice cream socials, manicures, or any one of our great clubs for the daily activities. Specific interest groups include poetry group, bird watching and bridge club.

Our senior living community offers many excursions out in the community to museums, Longwood Gardens, as well as lunch and scenic tours of the area. Our partnership with the Newark Senior Center on our campus offers an enhanced level of programming for our active seniors including travel and vacation options.

Brookdale White Chapel is available to host community organizations in our large dining area or second floor meeting room (i.e. Boy Scouts, Red Hats, Alzheimer’s Awareness). Our community also invites neighboring residents to our “dash and dine” program where they can join our residents for lunch or dinner in our fine dining restaurant.
