Wee to Golden LivingCenter – Briarwood, a skilled nursing facility located in Tucker, Ga., less than three miles from Dekalb Medical Center. At our LivingCenter, we understand how important it is to return home as quickly and safely as possible after a surgery or hospital stay. For this reason, we offer short-term care in addition to our compassionate, quality long-term care. Our other services include physical, speech and occupational therapy and wound care, all of which are offered six days a week. Residents and patients may also enjoy a variety of activities, including social clubs and group outings.

 We are proud of our patient rehabilitation services. We offer Geriatric Enhanced Modalities (GEM), powered by Aegis Therapies. GEM uses ultrasound, diathermy and electrical stimulation for a variety of treatments including stroke recovery, continence management, joint replacement therapy, wound care and osteoarthritis. These patients enjoy better mobility, less pain, greater joint flexibility, faster recovery, earlier discharge from therapy and an enhanced quality of life.

In addition to GEM, Golden LivingCenter - Briarwood also offers Aegis’ Freedom Through Functionality (FTF) program. Having the freedom and independence to do for themselves is essential for seniors to enjoy a full and active lifestyle. To fill this need, FTF uses Nautilus ^® , for a unique specially modified machine-based strength-building program for older adults. This program of strength building is a highly effective way to increase an older person's mobility, independence and alleviate their risk of falls. Potential benefits of FTF include improved quality of life, increased muscle strength, improved body composition, enhanced functional capacity and enhanced joint flexibility.
