West Kauai Medical Centeris the regional headquarters of the Kauai Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. Our Kauai sister facility on the east side of the island is Mahelona Medical Center.

West Kauai Medical Center campus is in Waimea, Hawaii on the westside of the island of Kauai. The hospital, Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH) is a full service Critical Access Hospital, named in honor of Kauai veterans. The medical center also includes hospital outpatient clinic, and a medical office building with additional medical services. Another hospital outpatient clinic is located in Port Allen nearby and a free standing clinic in Kalaheo.

Hospital services include 24 hour Emergency Services, Family Birth Center, Outpatient Clinics, Imaging (Xray, CT, Extremity MRI, Stress Testing, Ultrasound-Cardiac,General), Surgery, Rehabilitation Therapies (Occupational, Physical, Respiratory), Skilled Nursing, Intermediate, Long Term, Acute and Intensive Care.

Our provider specialties include Obstetrics & Gynecology, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Surgery (General, Trauma, and Oncology), Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, and Women's Health and Lifestyle Management.

The original hospital was dedicated in 1957 in honor of Kauai's war veterans. Today we employ approximately 276 people.
