The Good Samaritan Home opened its doors in 1962 to provide for the long term health care needs of the elderly.  Since then, it has grown to its present 128 nursing home beds, 18 residential apartments, and 54 bed Alzheimer's munity (Pathways).  An additional 30 bed Medicare unit, The Pavilion, provides short term skilled care.  The mission of The Good Samaritan Home is to provide a caring community through an atmosphere of Christian love and concern.  We are Medicare and Medicaid approved.

The Good Samaritan Home is licensed by the Indiana Department of Health and provides services to residents in a modern, home-like atmosphere.  These services include:  on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapy; full-time Chaplain services; skilled care; residential care; 24-hour nursing care, daily activities, and social services; all meal requirements as ordered by your personal physician; full assistance with all personal care needs; daily medication assistance/administration.

The Good Samaritan Home is owned by Lincolnland, Wabash Valley, and Evansville Tri-State Associations of the United Church of Christ. The home is governed by a Board of Directors and is a member of the Indiana/Kentucky Conference of the United Church of Christ, and The Council of Health and Human Service Ministries of The United Church of Christ.

Many of the services provided to the residents in the nursing center are also provided to the eighteen residents of The Good Samaritan Home Residential Apartments.  Here, individuals are able to maintain a high degree of independence in their living arrangements, while being able to receive assistance with medication and monitoring of their nutritional needs.
