Sunnybrook Village is Brunswick, Maine's, largest privately owned retirement and assisted-livingmunity, owned and operated by Richard (Rick) and Shuree Emery, a Maine family with many years of experience in caring for the expectations and needs of seniors.

All care plans at Sunnybrook Village include 24-hour staffing and emergency-system monitoring, scheduled transportation for medical and social needs, all utilities (except telephone and cable TV service), and use of all common rooms and facilities.

Independent Living— One and two-bedroom apartments are available for residents who are self-sufficient but who wish to live in a safe, secure environment. Independent residents may want to do some cooking and light housekeeping without responsibility for maintaining a household. This plan includes dinner served every day in our elegant dining room overlooking Moose Pond.

If residents in an independent apartment come to need help, they can stay in their home and are accommodated with assisted-living care.

Advantage Care Programs— Assisted-living care is available through three levels of Advantage Care Programs. All include three homestyle meals served in the dining room, as well as snacks available around the clock.

The appropriate care level for each resident is determined based on their ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, walking, getting in and out of bed, eating, and toileting.

Advantage Care Plan
At this level, participants are active and interested in social events and programs, yet they have difficulty living independently. Mobility may be restricted, or health issues may require temporary or periodic health monitoring and help with ADLs. Advantage Care includes general supervision in a protected environment, as well as medicine reminders and minimal help with daily grooming.

Advantage Care Plus Care Plan
Participants at this level can perform most ADLs independently but require some help and may need encouragement to participate in social and wellness programs and events. Advantage Care Plus includes supervision with all ADLs and moderate assistance with as many as four ADLs.

Advantage Care Premier Care Plan
Participants at this level are frail or impaired and require most care services—up to six ADLs per day. Advantage Care Premier includes primary assistance in most or all ADLs.

Respite Care— When available, temporary respite care can be provided on a daily or monthly basis for seniors who are recuperating from a hospital stay or illness. This plan is an excellent opportunity for caregivers who must temporarily travel or attend to other needs and who wish to be assured that their loved one is being well cared for while they’re away.
