HORRIBLE PLACE
As an ex employee (by choice, I resigned on 8/22/09) I have to warn potential residents. It has wonderful employees that really care for the residents, but the management is incredibly horrible. They are not trustworthy people, they try to act friendly to their residents (your family members) when they see their family visiting them, but other then that they really don't care much for them. There was a specific tragic occasion, a resident was slowly becoming worse with her moods and would tend to get physically violent, the executive director Nana Gyebour ignored this warning and went home without a care, that night the same resident attacked another (luckily she was pulled off before she caused real harm) that night the resident with mood problems had to be transported to the hospital, she later died the next morning due to a stroke from what had happened the night before, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DID HIS JOB. Funding for the company also comes up real short, the kitchen rarely has enough food for the week (which by law they are to have). Many families have trouble getting their security deposit back when they have all right to it because the company doesn't have money to begin with. Their Concorde shuttle bus breaks down often and sometimes with the residents on board with 100+ degree weather, and at times the company would ask family members to provide rides for their families due to the bus being down often, which doesn't make sense since you are paying for that service. Employees there also have hard time with management because the company writes out checks without having money in their account, we had to either cash them at a casino because they wouldn't be able to find out then that the company was broke until the checks would bounce in the casino's account. There is also much more to this poorly managed company, and if you don't want to take my word for it because the rent there is so cheap and sound to good, ask to see their letter grade (which is a big fat D) and ask yourself if your family members really deserve that kind of treatment.
