Brookdale Wayne, formerly Emeritus at Wayne, is located in the suburban town of Wayne, New Jersey. Ourmunity sits on a small hill overlooking a beautiful wooded area. Residents love to watch the deer and turkey on the property. The local area of Wayne is a wealth of history. The William Paterson University is right next door to our senior living community, and there are local museums and cultural events that take place nearby. A fine selection of shopping can be found at the Willowbrook Mall, which is only 20 minutes away. Brookdale Wayne is easily accessible to family and visitors. Newark International Airport is only 30 miles from the community, and New York City just a 40 minute drive.

A Wonderful Selection

At Brookdale Wayne, you will be welcomed with a smile into our warm and inviting home-like atmosphere of 95 senior apartments located on beautiful, wooded grounds. The studio apartments have a great layout with an alcove for a bed, as well as a sitting area. Our one-bedroom apartments are just the right fit. The spacious common areas are attractively furnished and well-utilized. The community is completely handicap-accessible.

Elevators on either side of the building make for easy access by residents. Fun and games can be had in our first floor parlor with 24-hour snacks and beverages in the bistro. Town square on the second floor holds our beauty parlor, activity room, multi-purpose room, physical therapy gym, library, computer lab, cafe and wellness center. The outdoors can be enjoyed on our beautiful patios and walking path. Residents also have use of three-hole miniature golf and bocce ball court. The memory care unit has a recently remodeled kitchen and activity room.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

Our senior living community has a strong relationship with St Joseph’s Hospital, which is a half mile away in the city of Wayne. We also have partnerships with Chilton Hospital, Christian Health Care Center, and other area hospitals. We maintain close relationships with a variety of rehabilitation centers, such as Arbor Glen, Preakness Health Care, and Oakland Care Center to name a few. A number of specialists visit our community on a regular basis to provide hospice services, podiatry, laboratory, X-ray and wound care.

Three homemade meals are served restaurant-style daily in elegant surroundings both in assisted living and in the memory care neighborhood. Each meal offers a variety of choices, hearty soups, fresh salads as well as an always available menu. Our Food Committee meeting is held monthly and residents have the opportunity of tailoring the menu to their preferences. Special needs are overseen by the dining services director in conjunction with a registered dietitian and nursing services. Memory care residents use contrasting dinnerware and table linens to better enhance their dining experience.
