Brookdale Anderson, formerly Emeritus at Anderson Place, is among the premier retirementmunities In Anderson, South Carolina. We are the only continuing care retirement community in Anderson offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation all on one campus.
Brookdale Anderson sits on 12 acres and includes 76 independent living cottages, a 30-room assisted living area and a 44-bed skilled nursing facility – all single-story buildings. While our community has been here serving senior since 1987, Brookdale Anderson is exceptionally well maintained and easy to navigate, with covered walkways connecting all of the buildings and lovely shared patio areas creating outdoor living spaces.
Our unique and convenient campus community allows residents to easily transition from one level of care to the next, and from one area of our property to another. With the same friends, same great menu and caring staff, they can move through the community as their health needs change, ensuring that they receive the appropriate care to support the best quality of life possible. A Great Location
Located in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the outskirts of Anderson, South Carolina, Emeritus at Anderson Place is approximately halfway between Atlanta, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina – convenient to both mountains and coast. The countryside here is beautiful and the living is tranquil. There is always plenty to see and do. Brookdale Anderson is located less than ten minutes from Interstate I-85 and is convenient to numerous medical facilities, churches, banks and shopping centers. We’re also located just five minutes from downtown Anderson, a lovely area where there are many cultural events which our residents enjoy throughout the year.
A Wonderful Selection
Independent Living – Our one and two-bedroom cottages are designed to provide the privacy of a single home yet are connected via covered walkways to the main clubhouse, where activities and dining are held. Each cottage has its own private patio, full kitchen, a living area and breakfast nook and our two-bedroom homes include two full baths. The monthly rent includes the resident’s choice of meals per day, transportation services, housekeeping and activities. The main clubhouse includes an activities area, on-site chapel and exercise gym. Anderson Place also offers an outdoor swimming pool, available to all residents.
Assisted Living – The assisted living area of the community is known as the Summer House, single story in design, with 14 studios and 16 suites. Two styles of apartments are available: a studio with one large room in which the bedroom and sitting area are together, and a suite with one bedroom and separate living room. All assisted living apartments include a kitchenette and private wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. Residents also have full access to several common patio areas, a lovely sunroom where they can watch television and read, an activities room and dedicated dining room. They may also take full advantage of all the amenities in our main club house. And covered walkways throughout our campus protect residents from inclement weather.
Skilled Nursing – Our skilled nursing facility cares for residents who need short-term rehabilitation or long-term care services. Both private and semi-private rooms are available. Renovated in 2008, this area of our campus offers a comforting, homey atmosphere with carpeted hallways, wood flooring in the rooms, beds that look like they belong in a home and flat-screen televisions in each room. For our long-term care residents, we offer on-site hospice care as required.

Our Anderson Place Senior Standout Awards is an unprecedented event that recognizes seniors in Anderson County for a lifetime of hard work and dedication to our city. We also hold annual community events for family and friends, such as our luau in May and Festival of Trees during the holiday season.
Fine Dining
One of the best attributes of Emeritus at Anderson Place is our excellent dining program. We offer restaurant-style dining with many options to choose from each day, including a full salad bar. Our independent residents can choose the level of meal service that best meets their needs, whether one, two or three meals a day.
For those who may require special diets, we have a registered dietician to assist with their needs. The dining experience is not only about serving wonderful food, but also about providing a pleasing atmosphere for socialization with friends, family and neighbors.
