The Perfect Location

Conveniently located on the east side of Spartanburg, just across from Mary Black Memorial Hospital; Brookdale Skylyn has a country feel, but offers easy access to all that this area has to offer. Publix and Fresh Market are just minutes away, as are many medical office buildings.

The Chapman Cultural Center, located downtown, is Spartanburg’s center for all kinds of performing and visual arts, science and history. Here, residents can stroll through the Regional History Museum, the Spartanburg Science Center and SAM Art Gallery, where they can enjoy art exhibitions from international, national and regional artists.They can also attend performances at its two theaters, including the 500-seat David Reid Theatre and a classic black box theater for smaller productions. There are also several colleges in the immediate area, where residents are welcome to audit classes.

Should residents wish to travel outside of the area, we can easily take them to upstate South Carolina, just 30 minutes away, with its beautiful mountain scenery. The Bob Jones Museum of Art is in Greenville, 35 miles from our community. Greenville is also home to our residents’ favorite minor league baseball team, the Greenville Drive.

A Wonderful Selection

Brookdale Skylyn offers 116 spacious independent one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments; 102 one and two-bedroom units for our assisted living residents; a 24-unit memory care neighborhood on the first floor, with one- and two-bedroom apartments; and an attached 40-bed skilled nursing facility with both companion and private rooms.

All one-bedroom apartments include a full kitchen (no stove in our assisted living and memory care units), a living room, small balcony and handicapped accessible bathroom. Our two and three-bedroom units also offer a screened-in or glassed-in open patio, and two full baths. Our community is pet friendly too!

All residents have access to several common areas, including sitting areas on each floor and a spacious living room, with a grand piano and aquarium. We also offer a private parlor and a well-stocked library. Our Assisted Living residents also have their own Great Room for activities, relaxation and conversation with other community members.

Our Memory Care community provides private one and two-bedroom apartments, both with a kitchenette. The common areas include a spacious living room, two sitting areas, a private dining room and a beautiful outdoor secured courtyard, with raised bed gardens.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

Here at Brookdale Skylyn, we offer the full range of physical, occupational and speech therapy services, provided by the Westin Group on-site. Of course, residents are welcome to use any other therapy provider in the area – it’s always their choice.

For our skilled nursing and memory care residents, we have a physician and nurse practitioner on staff that provide care on the premises. They are also welcome to see their own physicians. And every three months, a podiatrist provides care on-site for any resident needing foot care.

Should a resident require hospice, we can recommend many outstanding hospice providers in the area, which will provide services right in the resident’s own apartment.

Residents are also given a membership to Trinity Health and Fitness, located across the street.
