Brookdale Englewood, formerly Emeritus at River Oaks, is an Englewood FL senior livingmunity that provides Independent Living, Assisted Living and Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care options for seniors. The property is located only three to five miles from the heart of the city and the beach, making it far enough away to be out of the bustle and noise, yet close enough for convenience.
Brookdale Englewood is close to the beautiful Englewood beaches, and shopping in surrounding areas, the Elks club, and a variety of dining establishments are just around the corner. Enjoy beautiful Florida beaches and the Englewood neighborhood!
A Wonderful Selection
There are several senior apartment size options available at Brookdale Englewood, and each can be enjoyed as a private or companion accommodation. Apartment style living can be enjoyed in our two-story structure that has it’s own private dining room and common areas, while a fine selection of apartments can be found in what we call our courtyard. This option is very unique to this area. Our retired, independent and assisted living residents can enjoy exiting from their apartment door straight out into the beautiful courtyard area. The memory care neighborhood is a secured building specifically designed for residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. We have had families tell us that our styles of living are very much like “condos with care” because they find the independent comfortable home-like feel that they want and the care that they need.

We nurture strong relationships with area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation centers such as Englewood Hospital, Englewood Rehab Center, Venice Hospital, Manor Care, Sunset Lake Rehab, Harmony, Pinebrook Rehab, Quality Rehab, Fawcett Hospital, Consulate Health Care, and Heritage Health Care to name a few. Through the communications and relationships that we share with key staff within these affiliations, we provide seamless continuum of care for our residents.

A Wonderful Place to Live
At Brookdale Englewood we value our residents’ opinions and we rely on their feedback through our food, activity and resident councils to plan activities everyone enjoys. Each day is filled laughter that stems from a calendar of enriching activities. Choices in social, physical, mental, spiritual, cultural and creative activities are encouraged. Residents enjoy a variety of live entertainment and outdoor excursions, all with the security of knowing care is available if they need it.
Brookdale Englewood is active like a “cruise ship” is active, but without the sea water. We do however certainly enjoy the therapeutic waters of our heated pool with pool parties and aqua exercise classes. We are six acres of fun and offer an array of different activities for everyone. Social hour with karaoke, wood working classes, baking delight, Bible study, ladies’ fancy nails and men’s manicures, fishing trips, bingo, jewelry beading and many crafts, are just a sampling of what we offer. We even have a theater to enjoy movies and freshly popped popcorn.

Brookdale Englewood is passionate about being active in the community of Englewood. Our focus is to hold events that add quality and value to the lives of others. A variety of events are held within our community that will nurture the spirit of people of Englewood and to be a resource to them. We host monthly Alzheimer’s support groups and educational seminars to offer help with health issues and financial support. Our Chili cook-off is a sure fire way to enjoy the summer heat, while our participation in the holiday parade provides an outlet in the cooler part of the year.
Fine Dining
Three homemade meals are served each day. A typical dinner meal might consist of a tossed salad, mouth-watering entree choices and a delicious desert. Meals are served in a restaurant-style atmosphere so that everyone can enjoy conversation with friends at their table while delighting in a satisfying culinary experience.
