Details About Brookdale Lewiston

Brookdale Lewiston, formerly Emeritus at Juniper Meadows, is a Lewiston, Idaho assisted livingmunity for seniors. Set on ten acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with an outdoor courtyard, it overlooks northern Lewiston hill, the valley and the developing southeast orchards.

We are located 750 feet above sea level in the Lewis-Clark Valley near the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers. This is a pleasant area, known for its low crime rate, moderate climate, outdoor recreation, and beautiful scenery — ideal for retirement living!

Our retirement community is situated near Highway 12 and Highway 95, which gives us easy access to all the attractions and amenities the area has to offer. Lewiston is a thriving baseball community, home of the NAIA World Series, hosted by Lewis Clark State College Warriors. The area is also bursting with history.

A Wonderful Selection

Brookdale Lewiston offers 82 apartments on two floors. We have studio and one-bedroom apartments that suit the needs of individuals and couples alike. Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living. Our community offers a large variety of off-site excursions and on-site activities that are designed to accommodate the individual needs and uniqueness of each resident.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

Brookdale Lewiston is deeply rooted in the health-care system throughout our area. We foster relationships with St. Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) Foundation, SJRMC Hospice Advisory Board, Tri-State Memorial Hospital Home Health & Hospice, local senior centers and many more. We have developed personal friendships with many local physicians and healthcare providers. Our community’s familiarity with extensive medical affiliations provides open-door access to numerous resources and conveniences for our residents.

At Brookdale Lewiston, we believe our home-like and caring environment is directly related to our skilled and compassionate staff. A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle

Brookdale Lewiston has an on-site Life Enrichment Director who works with numerous volunteers in order to provide a full and interesting activity calendar each month. These include bingo, games, music, bible study, ceramics class, balance class, exercise class, ice cream socials and more. We often enjoy outings for lunch, scenic tours, museums and historic points of interest.

Our senior living community education program, called Monthly Medical Forum, is a series of interesting presentations from local specialists on a variety of topics. This program is offered for residents, their families and the public. Brookdale Lewiston also hosts holiday events throughout the year, such as a Cinco de Mayo party, a festive Christmas celebration, a June barbecue, a Mothers’ Day Tea, and more. And of course, we recognize and celebrate each resident’s and staff member’s birthday.

Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

At Brookdale Lewiston, we are passionate about being involved in our local community. We participate on an annual basis with the Inland Northwest Blood Center to host a neighborhood blood drive. We also organize and support the Alzheimer’s Association at a variety of events throughout the year. We have hosted Chamber of Commerce “Business After Hours” events, and we support our local senior community centers in both Clarkston and Lewiston.

Fine Dining

At Brookdale Lewiston, we serve three meals a day in our restaurant-style dining room which features elegant linens and décor. Mealtime provides a wonderful social time for our residents. At lunch and dinner, we offer two entrée choices and an “always available” menu, which includes a lighter option of fruit and/or salad plate as well as a soup and cold sandwich, if desired. Snacks, including fresh fruit and popcorn, are routinely available.

Our talented and caring Dietary Services Director finds special ways to celebrate at each opportunity. This includes corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day, a special homemade Easter brunch and many others. If we can make it special and memorable, we will.

We Couldn't Have Asked For More!
We moved our folks into Brookdale Lewiston several months ago and couldn't be happier with our decision! The staff is like a second family to our parents, the food is exceptional - even my very picky mom has gained 5 much needed pounds due to the quality of the food. Their apartment is always clean and the management has been so good to us. My parents had isolated themselves for several year prior to their move and now they are engaged in activities. My dad has coffee with the Veterans and mom is part of a crocheting/knitting group. They also participate in the excercise program, 3 days a week - we are thrilled! There are not enough stars to rate this community. They have given us a piece of mind and our parents a true home.

Brookdale Lewiston
Being of sound mind, and after having lived in this facility for one year and four months, I would recommend this facility only to someone who is able to care for themselves completely. The majority of Med- Techs and Aides are loving, kind, and faithful. A few aides, however, from my viewpoint, seem to take advantage of their being allowed four personal days, as I understand it. When they call in at the last minute instead of showing up for work, it creates hardship on both their co-workers and the residents. We're a community of approximately 82 people in a two-floor facility; and several times a week there is only one aide for the entire floor. Weekends are the worst. I often have to wait fifteen or twenty minutes for help. (On one occasion I waited for help in the bathroom for 50 minutes--today I waited 45 minutes!) At times there is no shower aide available. At those times I get a shower only once a week! Then there is the food to consider. We've had at least four or five cooks since I've lived here. Many times I've looked at the menu and returned to my room to eat whatever I have tucked away in my cupboards. Evening meals and weekends are the worst. Sometimes the food is cold; other times the meat is tough. Everyone -- that is no exaggeration -- everyone has complaints about the food. I reluctantly grade the service at Lewiston Brookdale three- star while toying with substandard! Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my viewpoint.
