We are located near the Orland Square Mall and many fine dining resturants. We are just north of I-80 and directly on LaGrange Road. Orland Park has Centennial Park, Forest Preserves, many golf courses including Silver Lake Golf Course and Palos Country Club, The Nature Conservancy, Turtle Head Lake, Day spas and yoga, library and many hotels.

A Wonderful Selection

Ourmunity is a 3 story building with beautiful landscaping and pathways that go around the outside. We have several sunporch areas where our residents love to sit and socialize. On chilly days the residents like to sit by the fireplace and talk about their families. Our memory care neighborhood also has a sunporch with access to the courtyard that has a security system so you can know your loved one is safe.

Strong, Caring, Professional Relationships

We are able to refer to other care professionals about whatever the needs of the resident may be. We work strongly with the McGrath Clinic and the Ingalls Behavioral Health Clinic to provide psycho-social support for residents in need. Our rehab department is operated by RehabCare and assist the residents with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy directly in the community.

Our Staff

We have staff that have been working since the opening of the community 12 years ago. Our turnover ratio is very low. The staff take pride in their work and are very patient and compassionate about senior care. The resident comes first and the staff give them choices so that they can stay independent for as long as they can. Respect and dignity is shown to each individual that walks in the door, the staff always say hello to all they meet and you feel the warmth when you visit Orland Park.

A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle

Our Life Enrichment Director facilitates all of the activities in our assisted living community. Programs that provide quality-of-life for our residents include weekly bocce ball tournaments, wheel of fortune, the quilt club, painting lessons, spending time in our vegetable garden, live entertainment weekly, BBQ’s every other week in the nice weather, fishing trips, shopping trips, exercise every day and of course bingo.

Residents enjoy separating fresh flowers each week and making the beautiful arrangements that are set on the dining room tables. Our holidays are filled with sweets tables for Mother’s day which include a chocolate fountain. Mardi Gras party for resident and families, Luau in the summer is always fun and a craft show in the fall with many crafters from all over the area including crafts made by our own residents.

Day to day, the residents enjoy reading in the living room, watching the tv in the library or sitting and chatting by the fireplace. On nice days we have many areas in which residents like to sit and enjoy the weather on the varanda, on the sun porch or near the garden.

Partnering with the Local Community

Brookdale Orland Park hosts a BBQ for the Orland Park Fire Department in which all of our great emergency staff from the village are invited to come to the community, have a home cooked lunch on us and get to know both the residents and the staff.

We join many of the businesses in Orland Park for grand openings or health fairs including the Palos Health and Fitness club. At Christmas time, the Olive Garden will come and take a list of names of those residents with little or no family contact and put up a giving tree. The Olive Garden staff then brings gifts for those residents and comes to the community to enjoy hot cider and Christmas cookies with the residents.

The park district visits with their special education students to help with bingo twice a month and residents and students alike enjoy each others’ company and the prizes that they win. Several churches in the area provide communion and services for our residents in the community and provide different denomination services as well. We also host different health care forums for social workers, admissions and professionals to provide continuing education hours which enhances those professional relationships that we grow and depend on for our residents.

Fine Dining

Brookdale Orland Park provides fine dining for all of our residents, Assisted Living and those in Memory Care. Our tables are set for each meal with china and glassware. We use beautiful linen table cloths and napkins with fresh flowers arranged by our residents as centerpieces each week.

In the warm weather we have BBQ’s every other week. We have our special couples dinner quarterly for those couples that reside at the community or for the spouses of residents that come and visit so that they may have a special dinner with their loved one.

We also have our private dining room that can be reserved for families and residents in the event of a birthday party, anniversary or even if the family is coming in from out of town. Our Dining Service Director comes to us with many years experience as an executive chef in a major hotel and enjoys making those special touches to the dining experience such as garnish on the plate or a tropical fruit tree made out of pineapple for our Luau. Our wait staff take pride in the appearance of the dining rooms and make the experience a pleasent one by offering choices to our residents.

Activities

Activities are scheduled all day long including trips out shopping, bowling, crafts events, mens’ socials, different denominational church services, WiiGames, bingo, live entertainment and fishing trips to the local pond. Art group and yoga classes are offered in both assisted living and memory care. Our volunteers include sewing group, pet therapy and sing along with the piano in the living room.
