Heritage Woods of DeKalb is your affordable assisted living munity located on Annie Glidden Road, north of the Northern Illinois University campus, between I-88 and Hwy. 64 in DeKalb, Illinois.

Originally known as Barb City, DeKalb is located in north central Illinois, near Sycamore.

Heritage Woods provides a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home for older adults who need some help to maintain their independence.  The community, which is designed to serve adults 65 and older of all incomes, is located on the same campus at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center and the DeKalb County Department of Health.

The two-story building houses 76 studio and one-bedroom apartments and combines the opportunity to enjoy apartment home living with the availability of support services and opportunities for socialization with friends and neighbors and participation of social activities and events.

Each apartment has its own kitchenette, private bathroom with shower, and emergency response system. Community areas include an activity room, beauty/barber shop, convenience store, dining room, exercise room, library, patio and television lounge.
