Brookdale Fort Wayne, formerly Emeritus at Fort Wayne, is a Fort Wayne, Indiana Assisted Livingmunity for seniors. Our community has a neighborhood-feel that draws many to our location. From the white picket fence to our beautiful enclosed courtyard, our residents enjoy this warm, home-like environment that is close to shopping, dining and country excursions. Or they just enjoy taking a stroll in our courtyard on a nice sunny afternoon. Our senior living community is located in the northeast section of Fort Wayne which is close to many surrounding communities. This makes it a great central location for those families or friends who want to stop in and visit on their way between home and work.
A Wonderful Selection
Our small, home-like community has 63 senior apartments all on one level for easy access to our residents and common areas. We have three different sizes and styles of apartments from which to choose. The studios are ideal for those looking for the security and comfort of living in an senior living community but wish to stretch their finances a little farther. The alcove is our mid-size apartment. This roomy-feeling apartment has ample closet space and a lot of natural light. It is more than enough space for a single resident, or for a “friendship living” option if desired. Our suite is our largest apartment option at Brookdale Fort Wayne. The size, along with the open feel, allows residents to enjoy having a separate bedroom area, as well as a kitchenette that includes a separate sink, counter top, small refrigerator and microwave. All of our apartment choices have their own private bathrooms with walk-in showers.
Whether sharing a meal with friends in the dining room, relaxing with a good book in the library, playing games in the activity room, or gazing under the stars in the courtyard; our residents and their families and friends have the opportunity to socialize or take time for themselves. Each day at Brookdale Fort Wayne is about living life to the fullest and letting us take care of the other stuff.

We also partner with our local senior center, Alzheimer’s Association, senior groups through Parkview and St. Joseph hospitals, and the medical community; in order to meet the needs of our residents, as well as others in need.

We also encourage our residents to participate in our exercise programs, and join others for cards, board games, and trivia games which promote Brookdale Fort Wayne brain-healthy lifestyle. Our brain-healthy lifestyle coordinates social, emotional, physical, mental/intellectual, nutritional and spiritual activities with the needs of our residents, families and staff. During the fall and winter holidays, Brookdale Fort Wayne holds trick-or-treating for the kids, a traditional family-style Thanksgiving meal, and a Christmas party for the residents. Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Brookdale Fort Wayne is passionate about being active in the community of Fort Wayne. Our focus is to hold events that provide information to members of the community to help them make informed choices. We partner with Parkview Seniors and other senior groups to be a resource to our senior community. Our seminars cover a variety of topics including Alzheimer’s disease, financial options, and other resources that are important topics for our community members. Our staff is also proud to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s through the Alzheimer’s Association each year.
Fine Dining
We serve our residents three homemade meals each day. Every meal includes a salad of choice, a selection of entrees, and dessert. Meals are served on fine china in a restaurant-style atmosphere so our residents can enjoy good food, good friends, and memorable experiences. Our residents may also select alternative meal options if desired.
