Brookdale Kenner, formerly Emeritus at Kenner, is an Assisted Living and Alzheimer’s caremunity in Kenner, Louisiana. Located right off of Williams Boulevard and a short drive to I-10, we are near some great local attractions such as Treasure Chest Casino, Chateau Golf Course and the Esplanade Mall. We are minutes away from Ochsner Hospital and East Jefferson Hospital where local doctors are available 24/7. We are also approximately five miles from the Louis Armstrong International Airport.
A Wonderful Selection
Brookdale Kenner is a “loving” family environment. Residents have the choice of four different senior apartment styles with special features in each. Some amenities in these four different styles include, by are not limited to, walk-in closets, bay windows and a wireless emergency call system. We have a New Orleans inspired enclosed courtyard which leads into our atrium style lobby. Our lobby is arranged with a baby grand piano which encourages residents and others to entertain and socialize. We provide safe transportation for our residents to physician appointments, shopping and other outings. Our residents at Brookdale have access to Ponchatrain Parlor which has a seating area with a large screen television and movies. For residents looking for a more quiet setting, there is a library with a multitude of books available and internet access.

Here at Brookdale Kenner, we also have close professional relationships with several local hospitals, geriatric behavioral health hospitals, local pharmacies, medical equipment providers as well home health and hospice agencies. We are here for the residents and families when such services are needed and are able to get rapid referrals to ensure that our residents are always safely somewhere.
A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle
Our daily calendar of events is chock full of activities for our residents to enjoy. Our Life Enrichment Director works hard to create a schedule of events that our residents enjoy participating in. Our goal in community activities is to help make every resident’s day better and more enriched. We strive to have diverse activities and programs to better meet all of our residents’ preferences. Some of our day-to-day activities include bingo, live music entertainment, movies and popcorn and much more. Here at Brookdale Kenner we take advantage of any reason to celebrate. We pride ourselves in having exciting parties for every holiday including Mardi Gras. We love to show our appreciation for our residents by having a monthly birthday celebration for all residents that had a birthday during the month.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Brookdale Kenner is a polling place for our community which allows our resident to vote in the comfort of their own home. We host a monthly girl scout meeting as well as a monthly Alzheimer’s support group in our community. Our local high school students gain wonderful experiences by volunteering in our community and enriching our residents day to day lives.
Fine Dining
Down in the Big Easy, we pride ourselves on preparing local cuisine for our residents to enjoy. Some of our favorites are gumbo, red beans and rice, crawfish ettouffee and praline cheesecake. We also prepare more traditional meals that even the pickiest of eaters can enjoy. Our dining room is open for two different seating times at every meal to accommodate the early risers as well as the night owls. Our restaurant style dining enables our residents to choose their meals for the day instead of having them chosen for them. If a resident is not keen to what is being served, we have a variety of always available menu options.
