Details About Brookdale Heritage Circle
Brookdale Heritage Circle, formerly Emeritus at Heritage Lodge, is a Hendersonville, North Carolina Alzheimers Caremunity for seniors. Our community is just five minutes from downtown Hendersonville, North Carolina. Hendersonville is a wonderful retirement town with shopping, restaurants and every amenity our residents could need; including two hospitals and several skilled nursing facilities. What we don’t have here is available in nearby Asheville – the cultural and arts Mecca of the Western North Carolina region – which is just 30 minutes away. Several larger hospitals are also located in Asheville.

A Wonderful Environment

Brookdale Heritage Circle was recently refurbished with all new furniture, paint and flooring. Located in a separate T-shaped building, Brookdale Heritage Circle offers ten units that are 294 square feet suites and ten suites that are 411 square feet. Each unit has a full bathroom, kitchenette and living area. The larger suites also include a bedroom. We are licensed for 24 residents so that two of our suites can accommodate two residents who wish to take advantage of our affordable companion living option. Our memory care residents have access to a secured outdoor courtyard area, a nice dining room and family room where we hold church services and have family get-togethers. Our community also offers an on-site beauty salon/barber shop.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

Our community has close partnerships with many outside home health agencies, which are welcome to provide their staff to work with our memory care residents in their own homes.  We can help coordinate physical, speech and occupational therapists, home health nurses, hospice, senior helpers at the request of family or residents.

Our Staff

Brookdale Heritage Circle is staffed by fully trained memory care professionals. Our staff is trained in getting residents involved in stimulating activities, so that each day is purposeful and fulfilling. They also are trained in various techniques to handle behaviors common to people with memory disorders.

A Wonderfully Active Lifestyle

From Tai Chi to throwing a resident party “just because,” our full-time Life Enrichment Director keeps an active calendar to meet the needs of our very active resident population. Stained glass, basket weaving, card games, cribbage, bingo, church services, wine tastings and even jam sessions are among the diverse activities planned throughout the month. We also have several clubs, including our book committee and sewing club.  We offer exercise classes Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. Residents enjoy movies together on our large-screen television or playing billiards – and always find something interesting to read in our well-stocked library.

Our memory care residents also enjoy outings beyond Brookdale Heritage Circle – for picnics, sight-seeing or to enjoy the holiday lights, for example. We also offer a wide range of entertainment for residents as well.

Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

Our senior living community works closely with the Alzheimer’s Association on a yearlong basis, helping raise money through a variety of events, including the Walk to End Alzheimer’s each year.

We also coordinate a support group to which any family or member of the local Hendersonville community who may be caring for someone with a memory disorder is invited. It’s a great way for people to connect with others who share similar concerns and provides a safe, supportive environment to talk through their issues.

Fine Dining

Our memory care residents have their own dining room and are provided the same quality meals as our other Brookdale memory care communities. Because they can’t always tell us what they’d like for dinner, we show each entrée on a plate and let them point.
