A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle

Offering seniors an active social life and choice of activities is at the heart of what we do. We start most days with a mildly rigorous exercise class and end each day with a movie in the theater. We plan weekly shopping and lunch-out excursions to local destinations and surrounding areas. Day trips include tours of attractions within a one hour radius such as the Franklin Park Conservatory Butterfly Exhibit, Marie’s Candies, Young’s Dairy, The Columbus Zoo, Columbus Art Museum, Fire Station Tours, Union County Fair, Anthony Thomas Candies, Columbus Clippers, Hollywood Casino and America’s Whistle Factory. We have quarterly Friends and Family Nights and invite local children for annual Halloween Trick or Treat & an Easter Egg Hunt. Entertainers are scheduled a couple of times a week with lots of different musical presentations, ice cream socials, karaoke, line dancing and pet therapy. Of course we also offer bingo and craft related projects as well as weekly happy hour in our pub. Additionally our book club is growing in membership and we offer a special Life-Bio class in conjunction with Union County Senior Services. Our staff also spends time on an one-on-one basis with the residents.

Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

We annually participate in local health fairs and chamber/city events, business after business, expos, Uptown Friday Nights throughout the summer, fundraising and other activities for Union County Senior Services, Rotary events that include a 5K and Youth Talent Show. Hospital Events include Women’s Event, Festival of Trees and Nurse’s Breakfast. Many local women’s clubs have utilized our community for their meetings. We welcome groups in for lunch and tours monthly. A few times a year we host the Alzheimer’s Association, offer Caregiver Support Seminars, Long Term Care Insurance seminars and other educational events for the community and/or our residents and their families. The Friends of the Library holds their annual dinner here. Our local churches are also active in our community whether by providing communion to their parishioners or outreach to all our residents. Additionally we are active in supporting our local senior centers and the events they hold monthly and annually for their membership with food and/or assistance with their activities and events.

Fine Dining

We prepare three fresh meals everyday and give the residents flexibility as to when they want to eat by offering each meal for one and a half hours. Breakfast is served from 7:30 – 9:00 am and is made to order. We offer eggs any style, bacon, sausage, pancakes and a selection of hot and cold cereals. Lunch is served from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm and dinner from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. Each of these meals has a set menu but there is a list of standard alternatives available. The dietary staff bakes fresh homemade cookies daily that are available in the café. We welcome families to join us for dinner anytime but just ask for a little advance notice. For family groups they can reserve our private dining room or activity room. Some of our local favorites are homemade lasagna, meatloaf and Reubens.
