Short-term nursing care concentrates on supplying rehabilitation services to patients who have recently been victims of acute medical trauma. St Cloud skilled nursing facility residency bears monthly costs that fall near the national average and well under the Minnesota median level. Private SNF rooms cost $6,451 per month, $700 per month less than the state median. Semi-private SNF accommodations run $6,393 per month, more than $500 per month under the median.

Many adult children have a difficult time putting their aging parents or relatives in nursing care against their wishes. This trend often means that certain patients end up in assisted living care when they should be in a nursing home. Even though patients need the advanced and comprehensive levels of support provided by nursing care, the stigma of nursing care pushes them away from the treatment they truly need. In some cases this can cause certain problems with medication. In some states, assisted living facilities are not legally allowed to administer medicine directly to patients.
