Brookdale Parmer Lane, formerly Emeritus at Parmer Woods, is located in the lively and exciting city of Austin. We are just minutes away from the Domain, a lively upscale shopping and residential area with a variety of shopping and dining opportunities. We are also within blocks of major highways making it convenient for out-of-town guests to reach us and for residents to access all the excitement and attractions of Austin and surrounding areas.
A Wonderful Environment
Brookdale Parmer Lane isprised of a two-story assisted living and a one-story memory care neighborhood. Both have their own enclosed courtyard that is professionally landscaped and maintained, allowing our residents the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a safe, private environment. The interior of the buildings provides an appealing, comfortable setting and includes a theatre room, library, Internet access and a private dining room.
Our Staff
The staff is chosen not only for their skills but for their caring hearts. They understand that knowing the resident well, including all their likes and preferences, helps them better care for the whole person both physically and mentally. This culture of compassion allows for maximum quality of life for our residents and allows them to enjoy each other as extended family. One of the things that sets our community apart from other assisted living communities is the peace of mind of knowing that we have a licensed nurse in house 24 hours a day.
Strong, Caring, Professional Relationships
Brookdale Parmer Lane has an on-site medical clinic that is open three days a week. There is an M.D. and her staff of nurse practitioners are available to see residents in the office or in their apartment. The doctor has been serving residents of Parmer Woods for many years and has an excellent knowledge of our program and strong systems in place to coordinate your care with our nursing staff and resident assistants. Parmer Woods also has a partnership with Accountable Aging and Nurses Case Management, both whom provide valuable case management services to families.A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle
Our Life Enrichment program provides a wealth of activities designed to keep our residents engaged socially, physically and mentally. Physical activities include chair Zumba, Tai Chi and strength and toning classes among others. Our social activities include regular wine and cheese tastings. For those seeking something a little more cerebral, we offer mind stretchers and trivia games. The daily schedule of activities ensures there is always something to do and enjoy. Brookdale Parmer Lane has several larger events they hold each year that include a Spring Fling, an Octoberfest celebration, a Hawaiian Luau and a Casino Night. We also celebrate milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries and holidays with decorations, entertainment and special dining experiences.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Our residents also engage in community projects several times a year which benefit such organizations as our local children’s hospital, area nursing homes and area military bases.
Fine Dining
We are proud to offer “any time” dining. A resident can come to the dining room any time from 7am to 7pm seven days a week, sit down and be served a full meal. There are always multiple entrees to choose from as well as side dish choices, soups and desserts. If a resident prefers to have a night in, they may call and have their selection brought to their room. Our chef prepares a “Fine Dining Event” quarterly that typically includes multiple courses, wine pairings and can include entertainment.
